Biotech Leaders Biggest IT Frustrations

Earlier this month, we had the incredible opportunity to exhibit at BioIT World 2025 and wow, what an experience. From the moment the exhibit hall opened, we were surrounded by some of the brightest minds in biotech and life sciences. Every conversation reminded us why this industry is so special: the passion, the innovation, and the potential to change lives.

We met founders working on cutting-edge diagnostics, researchers leveraging AI for breakthrough therapies, and IT leaders pushing for smarter, more scalable infrastructure. The energy in the room was electric, and we left feeling truly inspired by the work being done.

One theme came up again and again in our conversations: IT is holding people back.

When we asked questions like:

  • “How’s your IT?”
  • “Do you feel empowered by your systems or constrained by them?”

…the answers were overwhelmingly similar:

  • “It’s frustrating.”
  • “It’s a pain point.”
  • “We don’t feel supported.”

From inconsistent systems to reactive support, many life sciences teams shared that their current IT setup is creating more friction than flow, adding complexity when they need clarity and slowing them down when they need to move fast.

In an industry that is driven by precision, innovation, and speed, technology should be a tool that empowers, yet so many of the incredible teams we spoke with shared stories of complexity, inconsistency, and feeling like they’re alone when it comes to making the right tech decisions.

That’s why having the right IT partner is so important in life sciences.
