Critical Mac Security Flaw - The Bad News & the Good

by Chris Russo | Nov 29, 2017 | Security, News | 0 comments

You may have heard that a critical Mac security flaw was recently discovered.  In short, "bad people" can very easily gain full access to nearly any Mac running the latest version of the High Sierra macOS release.  Here is the ZDnet article for more information.

That's the bad news.

The good news is that Apple has deployed a patch and it is being automatically distributed to connected devices as we speak. And, what's more is they're really only giving you one chance to push off the update. The ZDnet article is understandably critical for Apple letting this through, but you have to give props to Apple for their response.

We recommend not putting off the patch, by the way.

As a cool aside, my team was able to audit all of our customers in a matter of seconds and report back to me that only two systems under our support were affected by the vulnerability, and ensure that  both of those systems were patched immediately.
